The setup was a little difficult - it just came in so many pieces. But it was worth the effort. It works perfect for my teenage son. The storage underneath was the main reason we got it - that way we don't have to have a bulky dresser in the way. No problems as of yet!!!

I like the drawers designed into the bed frame. Unfortunately, it was difficult to assemble and some parts were not up to snuff. Here is what my interior designer who assembled it had to say,the bed- it took me about six hours......... probably would have taken less time if i would have had someone to help... it was time consuming just moving things around (especially the big pieces), there were about 800 screws etc! ha-ha....... i exagerate, but there were a lot! Overall, the manufacturers "estimated times" were a joke... also, i did not have any directions to get started with and had to get customer service to email them to me; next problem, as i mentioned, two of the drawers had warped sides - one of them actually cracked and i had to use wood glue and a clamp to set it right- which had to dry over night. another problem was that the 2 metal pieces (they were sort of "channels") - which hold the mattress support slats at the head and foot boards - had the pre-drilled holes in both the metal pieces and the hd bd/ foot bd, BUT the holes did not match up, so unfortunately, i had to re-drill holes into the metal pieces, time consuming, but i did n't want to re-drill the particle board as it would weaken the "hold" considerably in that material. many of the screws were inserted into a round metal piece (can't think of the correct name) which was inserted into a pre-drilled hole in various parts of the bed, these sort of "locked" in the screws, but most of the predrilled holes were too large and untill the screws were set in, they continued to fall out........ may not make sense to you unless you look at the directions....... tools- flat head and phillips head screw drivers........ I also used a drill to help screw in many of the screws, but only part way as some of the fasteners are plastic or pvc and could easily crack if screwed too many times. basically, the bed was more difficult than the pieces we got from other retailers..... their pieces had no problems matching up at all....... and all holes were correctly sized
